Kitara FC continue topping the Stannic Cup after 2-1 win over SC Villa.

Kitara FC did not top a leaderboard, but instead won the tournament outright by defeating SC Villa 2-1 in the 2025/26 Stanbic Uganda Cup Final. Because the Stanbic Uganda Cup is a knockout tournament, there are no table standings or topping of lists at this stage; the victory officially crowns Kitara FC as the champions.

The thrilling match took place on Saturday, 30 May 2026, at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.

Match Highlights & Timeline

12th Minute: SC Villa took an early lead through an unfortunate own goal by Kitara striker Patrick Henry Kaddu.

13th Minute: Kitara responded immediately when SC Villa's Missi Diego Ssemugera accidentally deflected a corner into his own net, leveling the score at 1-1.

47th Minute: Early in the second half, Jimmy Kalema fired a spectacular 25-yard strike past the goalkeeper to seal the 2-1 comeback victory for the Royals.

Tournament History: This marks Kitara FC's second Uganda Cup title in history, following their maiden victory in 2024.

Continental Qualification: By winning the final, Kitara FC officially secured Uganda's slot in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.

Individual Excellence: Kitara's Gadafi Wahab dominated the individual awards, taking home both the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Best Midfielder accolades.
